“Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind,

and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.”

- B.K.S. Iyengar

Dear Women,

We call to you, dear sisters and invite you to an afternoon just for you, for us women to share time together.

Traditionally women would gather and weave their baskets of life together. They would sing, move, share, create. In these settings knowledge has been past down for centuries from generation to generation.

At some point in our life we might have lost our connection to spirit and to the celebration of life.

This gathering is an invitation to revive that connection and dream to live our life fully, passionately and creatively as women.

Come and join us to create sacred space, allowing time to connect, reflect, share, listen and be heard.

To work with the wheel of the year and earth cycles to connect with the sacred feminine.

“Your Are the Medicine”

“Women are the nourishing power of the Universe….We have the wisdom, energy and unique power to return wholeness, sacredness, integrity and love to all of existence.”

⊙ NEW MOON RITUAL to open the circle and tune into the cycles of the moon, season & elements.

⊙ MOVEMENT PRACTICE to connect to the body and the powers and awareness of the energetic realm.

⊙ VISUAL MEDITATION to reflect, journey the themes within each particular moon.

⊙ SACRED CIRCLE as an intimate gathering where we learn new ways of speaking, listening and relating to each other. It is a place where we discover and integrate new blueprints that serve the women we are becoming. Once formed, the circle becomes a container for truth telling and sacred witnessing, healing and transformation. We sit together and welcome one another just as we are. Each unique perspective is valued and recognised for we know each vital piece enriches the whole. We embrace pristine pauses of silence and abandon the need to rescue one another from their experience and feelings.

⊙ CREATIVE WORK to work with our hands and self expressions. This will usually involve practical making, collage, performance, sound, sonics, poetry etc

Comfortable clothing. Please wear comfortable and cozy clothing (warm socks and a shawl to help keep you warm), and bring with you a journal, a pen . Finally bring something small and meaningful to be placed on the altar we create together.

Women have been gathering in circles since the beginning of time to share experiences, stories, thoughts, ideas and prayers. Sister's Circles offers a safe and gentle space for women of all ages and backgrounds to come together and share.

Humans have been gathering in the round since we began walking upright. Circles with a sacred centre are ancient, the oldest form of social interaction. The fire was in the centre as the people cooked and ate their food, heard stories, worshiped their gods and goddesses, and passed down the traditions and wisdom that kept them alive and healthy.

Ladies-only circles have been taking place all around the world. Many were directly tied to menstruation and the moon cycles. There are menstrual hut and moon lodge traditions all over the world that date back to 800 CE and in some places are still practiced today. While these largely have negative connotations now - women are basically being cast out of their communities for bleeding - but there was an empowering side to them, once upon a time.

The red tent and moon lodges grew in popularity as a sacred space for women and girls to affirm their spirituality and sexuality, and to heal from the wounds of patriarchy through connecting with each other. Religion, too, played a role in the oldest women’s circles, like those practiced by the Celtic Christians in the 5th and 6th centuries.

Despite everything women still continued to gather through collective acts of sewing, weaving, quilting circles to tea parties but the spiritual dimension and tapping into the energy of the sacred feminine seemed to have got lost along the way. Sister’s Circle is an opportunity to reignite those lost voices and dormant connections that lay within all of us and to continue to retrace the path that has already been paved for us.

A full body treatment with organic, Ayurvedic oils customised to your body type. This full body massage melts away muscle tension and liquefies toxins with the traditional anointment of warm herb-infused oils that penetrate deeply to bring true balance and relaxation to the body, mind and senses. This seamlessly follows with the Ayurvedic restorative therapy that begins with a light head and neck massage before your treatment. Restorative oil therapy is a constant poured stream of herbalized warm oil on to your third eye (Ajna Chakra). The effects of this ancient therapy have long been known and recently confirmed by modern science. It profoundly detoxifies, calms and relaxes the nervous system and helps with many common ailments such as stress, allergies, headaches and is especially good for insomnia.

According to Ayurveda, the oil therapy deeply relaxes the nervous system, lowers metabolism, integrates brain function and creates brain wave coherence and an alpha state. When the brain is under stress, cerebral circulation is compromised. As oil is poured on the forehead, the nervous system is deeply stilled. The brain waves slow down and become coherent. Once the brain is quieted, more life energy and oxygen and other nutrients flow more freely to the brain. The result: better brain function, mood stability and improved stress handling ability. With each successive oil therapy treatment, the mind systematically achieves an even deeper state of silence and more healing takes place. Regular treatments are said to increase blood circulation to the brain, improve memory, nourish the hair and scalp, encourage sound sleep and calm body and mind.

“The mind has no power to resist a gong that is well played.” ~ Yogi Bhajan

This centuries-old practise is more commonly known as a Gong Bath but combined with the Kora, the ancient 21 stringed West African Harp-Lute to bring a deep sence of awakening to the body and mind. A Gong Bath is a form of sound therapy where the gong is played in a therapeutic way to bring about healing. You simply lie on your back and let the therapeutic energy of the gong and kora transport you to realms beyond the four walls. The sound and vibrational energy of the gong and kora is an ancient and powerful tool used to help still the mind and allow the body to deeply relax. In this state, we can begin to process and release blocks, and come to deep physical relaxation.

The power of the gong and the kora has long been used to facilitate different states of consciousness. The wide frequency range and ebb and flow of the sound brings about a stillness and presence in the mind of the listener that is otherwise difficult to achieve, leaving one feeling mentally cleansed. As you lie in stillness you slip into yoga nidra or yogic sleep - a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. The sounds induce a relaxed body, fluid mind, and supercharged intuition. A moment for extreme relaxation and subtler spiritual exploration.

Sunara is a CPD certified masseuse and this 1 hour one-to-one session encourages the body to release stagnant energy and toxins with the help of herbal infused oils.
